Lamborghini teases new “super sports car” for Frankfurt

Lamborghini has begun sending out invitations this week for the debut of its new “super sports car” at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show next month. While the Italian automaker has a number of projects in development, this “super sports car” is most likely a production version of the Sesto Elemento concept that debuted last year at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

We had already heard that if the Sesto Elemento were to reach production, it would be for track use only. The invitation sent out this week says “Lamborghini. Racing Towards Frankfurt,” which suggests that the car debuting in Frankfurt also has a track connection. Put the two together and we suspect we’ll be seeing the Sesto Elemento again in Germany next month, this time without the word ‘concept’ attached to its name.
