If you played with Hot Wheels as a kid (or as an adult, as some on the Autoblog team have admitted to doing), then you’ve probably imagined what it would be like to have the thing in full size. Chevrolet has tried to make that a reality, creating a Camaro concept car inspired by the “Custom Camaro” 1/64-scale model that was part of the original Hot Wheels collection released in 1968.

Making its debut at SEMA today, the Camaro Hot Wheels Concept features chrome green paint, ghosted Hot Wheels logos on the fenders, satin black wheels, a Euro-style rear fascia and taillights and black aluminum hood insert with milled heat extractors. Under the hood is the standard LS3 V8.

Reality is bound by realistic parameters, but fantasy is not. So while there’s only so much space in our actual living rooms for everything we’d like to fit in there, in the Autoblog Fantasy Living Room, space is not an issue. There we can fit everything from Aston Martin couches to engine block coffee tables. And we just might round it all out with an item or two from the new Fiat 500 Design Collection.

The items are designed after the original Fiat 500 and crafted as furniture by the innovative interior design company Meritalia in collaboration with Lapo Elkann, the Fiat chairman’s brother tipped as a potential future chairman of Ferrari. The collection includes three pieces: the Picnic table (shown above), the Cin Cin bar counter and the Panorama sofa. Each replicates the front end of the original Cinquecento and is available in red, white, green or black. It’s not a Transfomer, but it can transform. It’s called the Halo Intersceptor, a creation of Philip Pauley, and in the designer’s own words it’s “the future of travel as we know it… a four seater USB stick that is designed to outperform any other private vehicle on earth.” That’s done with the vehicle attachments that can turn the bullet-shaped coupe into a plane, a helicopter and a twin-hulled ocean racer.

Back the car into the Halo 120° fitment, and a “private and unparalleled Jet flight experience” await you. Back it into the Halo 46° and it’s a helicopter, while the Halo 22° is a “High Performance Sports Cruiser” closed cockpit Cigarette-type boat with exterior access to double berths up front.

Our favorite part is Pauley’s claim that the Intersceptor has “no need for superlatives, no hyperbole, just desire and good business sense.” Ahem. Find more of that subtle talk in the press release and video after the jump.
