Close your eyes and picture a motorcycle. Chances are, you’re seeing something with two wheels, an engine sitting right in the middle and a spot for the rider splayed out on top. If you’re Joey Ruiter, though, you might have something else entirely on your brain. Says Ruiter:

We want to re-set the definition of a motorbike, stripping away historical attributes that make them so great. It’s hard to imagine a motorcycle without fancy paint, overpowered motors, exposed mechanical genius, and sweet exhaust tones.

While it’s true that we love seeing exposed elements on our motorcycles, there’s something intrinsically cool about Ruiter’s concept and the way it makes a rider appear as if he’s floating down the road on an appliance… if only because it’s unique.

Taking the concept a step further, this machine is powered by an electric motor and it sends its ride data (speed, distance traveled, etc) to the rider’s smart phone. See the Moto Undone concept in the included gallery.

Car and Driver is reporting that the new rear-wheel-drive sports sedan concept from Kia may be called the Veredus. The vehicle is set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, though the company has been mum on the project’s name so far. Kia filed for a patent on the Veredus name not too long ago, and, as Car and Driver points out, the concept is the only vehicle in the company’s short-term product plan without a name. Sounds like a pretty strong case to us. While the report reminds us that there are plenty of other future nameless Kia models, everything else in the near term has a moniker.

One of those future models just so happens to be a rear-wheel drive sedan (heretofore known as the K9) based on the Hyundai Genesis platform, and there’s also word that the Hyundai Cadenza may show up soon as the Kia Cadenza. Either of those vehicles could snap up the Veredus name instead of the concept, however.

At the 2011 New York Auto Show, we asked Dominic Infante, Subaru’s U.S. product manager, about the XV Concept revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show. “It’s probably not for us,” he said, “but we’re looking at it. And if it did come, it probably wouldn’t be called Outback Sport.”

That’s because the Outback Sport is an anomaly in Subaru’s U.S. line-up that the brand’s marketing arm would like to correct – an Outback in name only, it is actually based on the Impreza platform. But it sells so well, Infante says, “that the sales guys don’t want them to change anything. They’re like, ‘Don’t mess it up.’”

At the end of August, Autocar revealed details of a concept car that it said Jaguar would bring to this week’s Paris Motor Show. That concept car is now said to have a name – C-X75 – and not much else is known about it beyond the speculation we already have.

Laid out as a pure concept, it reportedly isn’t meant for production, but rather to tip Jaguar’s hand about the company’s future plans for design, luxury and sustainability while celebrating the marque’s 75th anniversary (hence the name). That means we can probably expect a glimpse of a new grille treatment and supposedly a V6 hybrid powertrain, both indicative of what could be seen on the next generation of Leaping Cats that will begin arriving in 2012.
