Moments of brilliance can lurk in the most unexpected places. The character Red from “That ’70s Show” once pontificated, “Being a man is all about doing things you don’t want to do.” Herb Younger knows that better than most. The guy bought a 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS with a 396 brand new, spending nearly every dime he had at the time. He cherished the car for over 15 years before being forced to sell the SS to help pay for his sons’ educations. Over 20 years later, Jared and Derek began a quest to find the old ’65 and return it to its rightful owner.

The search would take over five years, span multiple states and international borders, but the payoff was well worth it. Jared and Derek told their father a film crew was doing a documentary on the American family when the Impala rolled up for the first time, and the look on Herb’s face when he sees the canary yellow SS is unmistakeable. It’s love.

“It’s not just a car. It’s all the memories and feelings. It brings all that back.”

Of the many painful moments in The Hangover, watching the cadre of best men destroy a beautiful 1965 Mercedes-Benz 220SE Convertible over the course of the film was perhaps the worst.

Between Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis bouncing the vehicle off of traffic and the sides of a concrete tunnel and allowing a live tiger to chew on the upholstery, this classic piece of German engineering suffered greatly at the hands of the movie’s script. But this is Hollywood, where nothing is as it seems. As it turns out, the film used three convertibles and two coupes chopped to look like convertibles for the filming.

One of the convertibles and one coupe received the raw end of most of the damage, leaving three survivors. The two drop tops were then auctioned off for charity, and now one is up for sale on eBay Motors. According to the seller, this vehicle was used for most of the interior filming, and while its cabin was thoroughly destroyed during the making of the movie, it was restored to its original perfection after shooting wrapped. The car is supposedly in solidly operable – but not concours – condition. Looks like a great driver to us. The minimum bid sits at ,000 with a ,000 Buy-It-Now price, meaning you’re paying a hefty premium for the car’s movie provenance. Head over to eBay Motors as you ponder adding it to your wolf pack.

Intermeccanica may be best known today for producing its Roadster, a Porsche 356 replica. Years ago, however, the company built a handful of uniquely styled automobiles for a variety of customers. One of those customers was the J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency, which commissioned a Ford Mustang station wagon to be shown off to Blue Oval brass. The Ford execs never went forward creating a Mustang wagon of their own, but a few other folks did. The one you see here was built by Joe Ramp, and you can put it in your garage because it’s for sale.

Starting with a 1965 Mustang hardtop coupe, Ramp stretched out the roof and created custom rear side glass along with the fabricated D-pillars. The builder tried to retain as much as the stock body as possible, so the rest of the car is all Ford-built Mustang.

Builder Joe Ramp decided to upgrade the powertrain in order to better haul around the extra bit of weight. A 5.0-liter V8 sits underhood and is paired with a T5 five-speed manual gearbox. The power is routed to an eight-inch Ford rear-end and 3.00 gears. Custom control arms and upgraded shocks help the Mustang handle any cargo placed out back.

The car appears to be a clean example of what could have been. RK Motors of Charlotte, North Carolina has listed the car for sale on eBay, with a Buy It Now price of ,990. We love ourselves some vintage muscle cars, and none more so than the one that started it all: the Pontiac GTO. It’s 389-cubic-inch V8 engine burbling underhood, its paper-thin bias-ply tires at all four corners and its complete lack of any kind of safety equipment mean the old Goat is nothing if not a hoon’s dream car.

But what does it have to do with boxers? Beats us. Whether you’re talking about the kind you wear under your jeans (in this case from Camouflage) or the kind that licks you in the face, we’re completely baffled as to why the donut-performing muscle car is being used to advertise boxers.

Oh well. The Pontiac GTO (1965 vintage, in this case) is always welcome on these pages, and boxer puppies are adorable. You’ll find both of them in the video after the break. Enjoy! Thanks for the tip, Diland!

A one-of-five 1965 Ford GT40 Roadster will be auctioned off at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, Italy on May 21. The car was built in 1965 as a prototype by Ford’s Advanced Vehicle Operations center in England, and is one of four surviving examples.

The Linden Green example crossing the block was raced by John Whitmore and Bob Bondurant in the 1965 Targa Florio, running as high as third before it was forced to quit after being damaged. The car, chassis GT/111 was lost after the Targa Florio, waiting to resurface until 2006.

The car was authenticated and restored in 2007, and has made vintage race appearances around the world, starting with the 2007 Goodwood Revival. Given the car’s rarity, blue-chip name and Whitmore/Bondurant prestige, the GT Roadster will no doubt fetch some serious bank when it rolls across the block.
